Reviews/Types of Solar Panels

With different types of solar panels available in the market, it becomes a matter of assessing needs and determining which system will work best for an application, whether it is for a residential setup, or for industry or the government. The different kinds include mono crystal, poly crystal and thin film or amorphous silicon solar panels. Mono-crystalline solar panels are made from a large crystal of silicon, while polycrystalline solar panels consist of multiple amounts of smaller silicon crystals that looks like shattered glass. The mono crystalline panels are most expensive, but at the same time they are the most efficient in absorbing sunlight. The poly crystalline solar panels are also cheaper to manufacture. Thin film or amorphous solar panels have no crystalline structure and can be applied as a film directly on various materials. Hence, they can be produced quickly and thus have low manufacturing costs. However, these panels are the least efficient type as they use silicon with high levels of impurities which causes a drop in efficiency within a short period of time. With all the types of solar power systems, it should be easy to find one that suits your needs and works best for your application.
